There is something magical about Spring. The air begins to change, we to shed the old and start anew. Flowers begin their blossoming and the sun starts to warm us from the cooler months. It is a perfect time of year, and the inspiration for Spring Fling. It is amazing either as a hot or iced tea.
Ingredients: Fennel, Hibiscus, Apple, Rosehip, White Tea
Fennel: Traditionally has been used as a digestive aid, specifically for constipation, IBS, bloating, abdominal pain and gas formation. It is also indicated for coughs, congestion blood pressure and stimulating milk production in breastfeeding mothers and reduce morning sickness. It has been used to cool the body, reduce PMS and cramps.
White Tea: Traditionally has been used for its high antioxidant properties, reduce signs of aging, and may help with weight loss due to its ability to reduce fat cell formation. It is also indicated in insulin resistance and in the treatment of cancer. Studies have shown it may act as a chemoprotector and as an anti-mutagenic.
Hibiscus: Traditionally it has been used to help reduce cholesterol and high blood pressure. It is also indicated as a great immune support and may help with digestive complaints. It has been indicated for increasing the metabolism, which may help to stimulate weight loss. It is rich in anti-oxidants and high in vitamins and minerals, such as vitamin C. It may also help with painful periods, anxiety and depression.
Apple: Used in tea for flavour and sweetness.
Rosehip: Traditionally has been used to boost the immune system, reduce intestinal spasms, treat digestive complaints such as constipation, diarrhoea and ulcers. It is also indicated in reducing fluid retention, cholesterol and blood pressure. It is also used extensively in skin care, for improving tone and texture and reducing the appearance of aging.
