This tea has been 2 years in development. As a naturopath I specialise in mental health support, and I wanted to create a tea to support depression. It has been waiting for the right time to make its debut, and now is the time to let this tea spread its wings.
My hope is to help support as many people as I can through the healing power of herbal teas, as well as clinical support.
100% Organic Loose Leaf Tea
Ingredients: Rhodiola, St John’s Wort, Withania, Passion Flower, Lemon Balm, Lavender and Liquorice Root.
Caution: please consult with your health care provider if you are pregnant or breastfeeding before having this tea. Not suitable if you are taking anti-depressants or benzodiazepines. St Johns Wort can make the contraceptive pill less effective.

Rhodiola: Traditionally has been used as an adaptogenic tonic, to boost energy, build endurance, reduce fatigue and help with depression. It is indicated for insomnia, lower cortisol, improve memory, lower blood glucose, balance the thyroid and balance hormones. It may also help increase serotonin and dopamine sensitivity.
St John’s Wort: Traditionally St John’s Wort has been used to help treat depression, anxiety, improve mood, reduce PMS and calm the nervous system.
Withania: Traditionally has been used as a restorative tonic, and in the treatment of nervous exhaustion, anxiety and stress. It has been used to help encourage rest and relaxation. It is a wonderful adaptogen, indicated in helping the body adapt to internal and external stressors and rejuvenate the nervous system. May help increase physical endurance, balance cortisol production related to stress, anti-aging, anti-inflammatory and support the immune system.
Passion Flower: Traditionally has been used to calm the nervous system, increase GABA in the brain and reduce anxiety, stress and depression. Studies have shown that it has a similar effect on calming the nervous system as benzodiazepines. It is also indicated for insomnia to improve sleep quality, lower blood pressure, ADHD and reduce gastrointestinal discomfort. Studies have also shown it may help increase the anti-depressant effects of st john’s wort.
Lemon Balm: Traditionally Lemon Balm has been used to help reduce stress, promote relaxation and calm the nervous system. It has been indicated to help reduce anxiety, depression and promote a restful sleep. It has also been used to calm the digestive system, reduce PMS,mood swings and headaches, as well as improve memory and concentration. It may help with irritability and restlessness.
Lavender: Traditionally Lavender has been used in the treatment of anxiety and depression. It is indicated for reducing nervous tension, slowing nervous system activity and inducing a state of relaxation and calm. It has been used in the treatment of insomnia and may improve sleep regulation. It may also assist in the treatment of migraines, stress, exhaustion, restlessness, digestive distress and reducing inflammation.
Liquorice Root: Traditionally Liquorice root has been used in the treatment of adrenal fatigue and cortisol imbalance, stress, digestive discomfort and depression. It is also indicated in the treatment of gastritis, liver support, eliminating mucous, PMS, cramps, mood swings and bloating, nervousness and increasing memory. It has also traditionally been used as an immune booster for colds, coughs, flu, is anti-viral, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-microbial, and Lyme disease. It is indicated to help detox the liver, heal intestines and reduce constipation, as well as regulate ovulation and increase fertility.
