This one is for all the people who are mad about their greens and health. After trying almost every green powder on the market, I decided to set about to create my own. So many green powders have extensive lists of ingredients, so it made me wonder, how much of each herb am I getting per serve? What is the point in getting 0.03gm of a particular plant?? It was like they were putting in all the extra ingredients just for the sake of it. More ingredients must be better right?
I wanted to know that every ingredient I was using had a point, made the powder better. I played around with so many herbs, trying to balance flavour and nutritional profile. I also did a mountain of research. For someone who has Coeliac, I needed to make sure it was gluten free. And while wheatgrass and barley grass are technically gluten free, as the grain hasn’t sprouted yet, it depended on the time it was harvested. There was research showing that the gluten gene was already present even in grass state –so no more wheatgrass or barley grass for me.
And so after many blends, the Ultimate Green 15 was finally born, despite there being 16 ingredients in it (woops!).
While not every ingredient is Green, it was about creating balance both with flavour and with its nutritional profile. It was about creating synergy. Almost like taking a multivitamin, but in the form a wholefood powder. No fillers, no flavourings, just pure natural herbs and wholefoods.
